A New Bunch of Updates

Goodness gracious it has been a while since this was updated. Well, we might as well do some updating now.

Series H

The eighth series of QI has now been fully recorded. This series will see the 100th episode being broadcast, although we do not know as of yet whether the official 100th episode will be a special (for those wondering, the official 100th episode does not take into account the unbroadcast pilot or the clip shows). Scroll over the white section to find out more.

The show features seven new panellists, one guest who has so far only appeared in the unbroadcast pilot, another since Series A and another since Series B. This series features the show's youngest panellist and the first member of the crew to appear on the show since Howard Goodall in Series A.

The Museum of Curiosity

The third gallery of The Museum of Curiosity has almost been completely unveiled. For those who have missed any of the meetings of the museum, which has been curated by John Lloyd and Jon Richardson, you can read about what has been going on from the museum's entry on the British Comedy Guide. Episodes are currently still available from the BBC iPlayer. The final episode of galley three is on 14th June.

A new range of QI products are coming out soon.

The Second Book of General Ignorance: Don't You Know Anything? - The follow-up to the Amazon best-selling Book of General Ignorance, the second book, written by John Lloyd and John Mitchinson contains even more stuff that you think you know, but you don't.

The QI Annual 2011 - The fourth annual book will feature "H" related subjects. Contributors include Alan Davies, Phill Jupitus, Jo Brand, Clive Anderson, Rowan Atkinson, Bill Bailey, David Mitchell, Rob Brydon, Sean Lock and Jimmy Carr.

Fry: A Memoir - Stephen Fry is to publish his second autobiography, which continues on from where his first, Moab is my Washpot, left off.

Boffinology: The Real Stories Behind Our Greatest Scientific Discoveries - The fourth in QI elf Justin Pollard's selection of "Interesting" books, in which he looks at the more interesting side of science, including how Issac Newton thought gravity was created by the Holy Spirit and the Greek invention of the slot machine.

I Never Knew There Was a Word For That - The three books of former QI elf Adam Jacot de Boinod are published together in this one publication. Containing The Meaning of Tingo, Toujours Tingo and The Wonder of Whiffling, they cover a range of words you never knew existed.

QI Petitions

Just to remind you that there are still some QI petitions being carried out. These are the petition to get the show broadcast in America, which currently has over 10,000 signatures, and the petition to get more DVDs of the show released, which is nearing 1,000 signatures.

Petitions, Reviews and Things

The petition to get QI shown in the USA by BBC America is now approaching its second big milestone; 2000 signatures. It has already surpassed the number of signatures that succeeded in getting the first DVD released but many more will be needed to convince a network in the USA. Please do keep encouraging your friends and fellow fans of the show to put their names forward in support.

"QI in America" Petition Milestone

Warm greetings to you from the States!

I'm happy to report that, following the start of the new series, and thanks in part, I'm sure, to our new place of honor at the top of the QI Talk forums, the "QI in America" petition reached 1000 signatures this morning.

And the numbers are still quickly rising! If you're new to the game, click through to go to the text of the petition, and to its homepage. We've no limit to the number of signatories for household, so if you know your family and friends would be interested, do pass along the word. Bonus elf points for leaving a quite interesting comment along with your signature. x

The QI Petition Needs Your Signature!

The QI petition to get BBC America to show QI in the USA has now been going just over a month. It has now received over 850 signatures and it is still growing! However, it needs more signatures to be a success and now that the new series is about to start plenty of new people will need to learn about the petition. Please sign it by clicking here and do your bit by spreading the word to your friends, family and online.

"QI in America" Petition UPDATE

Hello from me again. The petition we've starting to bring "QI" to BBC America now has over 500 signatures! Notably, signature no. 423 was added by none other than John Lloyd, QI's incomparable producer (although, as you can see, he has gone to lengths to disguise his identity).

I'm very glad that so many of you have taken the time to show your support for the poor QI-less in the States. We will, however, need to further hype the petition if we hope to let it make a good impact upon the discriminating minds at BBC America, n'est-ce pas?

I leave you all with this charge: Encourage others you know to sign the petition and DIGG IT as well. I've never met a person who dared to dislike QI, so I'm willing to bet that you too would be hard-pressed to find someone unwilling to spread the influence of this British gem. x

You may remember the success of the QI DVD petition, which got the first series of QI released on DVD only a few months after it was started.
